To care for solid gold jewellery clean it with warm soapy water and a very soft cloth.
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time, causing it to blacken slightly, due to exposure to natural elements. To prevent this happening, when not wearing your jewellery store it in an air tight container or jewellery box and give it a regular clean with a polishing cloth. To prolong gold plated items, keep them dry and avoid using chemical cleaners, to clean use a soft polishing cloth.
Sterling silver items that are over 7.78 grams are hallmarked, items under this weight are exempt from hallmarking.
