This eye-catching notebook is made from top-quality natural materials and makes a great gift for artists, journalers or those who value traditional craftsmanship. It is also very male-friendly and the contemporary binding makes it a good student option.
This is a one-of-a-kind book made using centuries-old marbling techniques, involving ‘floating’ paints on a bath of thickened water and carefully manipulating them to make striking fluid patterns, then laying a sheet of, in this case, wood veneer on top.
We do all the marbling and make all our books by hand in our South London studio, to ensure supreme quality.
Variations
The 'Stone' marbling pattern on this book is created by sprinkling different coloured paints onto the surface of the marbling bath in turn - each new colour pushes the previous colour back to make veins. It comes in two colour ways: 'Blue, Gold & Copper' and 'Vintage', which uses a pattern variation where the colours are combed half-way through to make a pattern that looks a bit like lava!
Each book is made with an individually marbled piece of wood, so you will receive one slightly different from the pictures shown, but it will be just as beautiful.
You can choose what kind of pages to have: lined for writing and lists or plain for sketching and scrapbooking. Both are made from premium ivory-toned Italian paper.
A two or three letter monogram can be stamped onto the front cover in luxurious gold foil.

Made from
Blue or dark green bookcloth covers the spine, complementing the chosen pattern and strengthening the spine. A genuine leather strip is attached to the back cover and wraps around the book, a stylish way to keep it from opening when on the move.
The wood veneer covers are lightly varnished for extra protection, then attached to thick book board and glued directly onto the front and back of the book - an unusual, contemporary style exposing the raw board edges.
Each book contains 240 pages (120 leaves), with a choice of subtle narrow lines or blank laid paper. We like the detail that the lines don't go right to edges of the paper and are contained within each page.
