Made in Britain
One of the most famous and eduring photographs of Edinburgh from the National Galleries of Scotland archives.
The photographer, Alfred Buckham had crashed nine times before he was discharged from the Royal Naval Air Service as 100% disabled. Continuing to indulge his passion for aerial photography, he wrote that 'If one's right leg is tied to the seat with a scarf or a piece of rope, it is possible to work in perfect security'. Presumably these were the perilous conditions in which the photographer took this dazzling picture of Edinburgh.
This fine art print comes in a choice of 3 sizes: 40x50cm, 50x70cm (+£10) and 70x100cm (+£20).
You can also add a simple black or white wooden frame for an additional £45.
All fine art prints are printed on a gently textured, etching paper weighing a minimum of 310gsm. It’s a beautiful paper designed for museum-quality reproductions.
Every custom print is individually created on demand using the latest print technology.
Inkjet printers produce the best quality prints, using a process commonly known as Giclée. We only use "brand name" UV (pigment-based) inks to ensure that each fine art print faithfully reproduces the tone, temperature and colour of the original image. UV inks contain enhanced light stabilisers and offer far more durability than dye-based inks, ensuring your print will remain vibrant for over 100 years in ideal conditions.
For the past five years we've been creating prints for many famous artists, galleries and museums. Tate, National Galleries of Scotland and Natural History Museum are just some of the collections we continue to work with and your fine art print will be produced to the same exacting standards, using the same high-quality processes and materials.
One of the most important aspects of the fine art printing process is colour management.
Colour management involves the constant calibration of our printers, monitors, scanners and software to ensure the colour of your print precisely matches the previews you get from the website. It's painstaking work but vitally important. It's the continual attention to detail that ensures you receive the best quality prints possible.
Overall paper size 50 x 40cm. The print comes with a standard border and the image size within this is 34 x 28cm.
