All about us
Handcrafted wooden boxes from a Lincolnshire family business.
Lindleywood was created by us, Simon and Helen Lindley, a husband and wife team who've been together for 30 years. We actually met at school. We've been married for 10 of our 30 years - we love the unusual so we hired a campsite for our wedding for 4 days of friends and family fun!
Our passion is designing, handcrafting, and handpainting unique wooden boxes from our Lincolnshire workshop.
There are eye-catching bird boxes, distinctive keepsake boxes, beautiful butterfly houses, and unusual wedding post boxes. Quirkily original designs on a classic idea - you could say we think outside the box when we make our painted wooden boxes!
Everything we create is Made In Britain and we use only British suppliers for our raw materials - local ones where possible. Even our packaging is local - from a little supplier about a mile away. Every product is handmade from high-grade sustainable pine by Simon is his workshop then handpainted with non-toxic wood paints by Helen in her studio.
We absolutely love what we do and take pride in the sturdiness and originality of our boxes.

We're proud that our products have been seen in various national magazines and newspapers and were also excited to be featured in National TV programmes such as Love Your Garden and The Alan Titchmarsh Show.

Lindleywood was chosen by Theo Paphitis (of Dragon's Den fame) as one of his Small Business Sunday (#SBS) winners and Helen has been one of Jacqueline Gold's WOW (Women on Wednesday) winners too. Helen was honoured to win a coveted Community Ambassador Award as part of the Not on the High Street Make Awards.

Our Products
Delivery
DISPATCH: We handcraft every item to order and rarely carry stock so we will dispatch as soon as your order is made. The estimated dispatch/lead time for all products is listed on each individual product page and is dependent on the type of product and time of year. As a very rough guide delivery is usually within 28 days across our range, although many product designs are delivered much sooner within 14 days and a few more complex and larger designs within 35 days.
Please note that during the summer holidays we operate a longer than usual lead time - this is purely because we are a family business with primary school-aged children and are rather partial to spending time with them doing things like building dens, taking country walks and bike rides, and visiting museums (and we like the occasional camping holiday!) If you need an item on a shorter lead time than that given, please email prior to ordering and we might be able to help.
DELIVERY: We use UPS for all our deliveries. Delivery usually takes 1-3 working days after our dispatch for mainland UK and 2-5 days for other areas, and will require a signature. Delivery to a neighbour is acceptable too.
Please note that product delivery only takes place MONDAY-FRIDAY and the quoted dispatch and/or delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed, unless we have agreed with you in writing prior to placing your order that we will ship by a certain date.

Terms and Conditions
We don't want to bombard you with too many terms and conditions, but here are the basics!
All orders will usually be delivered within 28 days of receipt of order, unless we have told you otherwise. The delay is because we make each piece individually to order.
We pack each box well to minimise damages. In the event of an item arriving damaged, please contact us immediately. Please keep the item in its original packaging as this is necessary for our claim. Of course, we will replace any item that arrives damaged.
Please be aware that each item is handcrafted and handpainted so one item will differ slightly to another. This means that each product is entirely unique. Also note that as we make each item from wood there may some variation in grain. Over time there may also be movement in joints and surfaces. This is down to the nature of ‘real wood' as opposed to synthetic materials and we feel adds to the individuality of each product.
On personalised items we can not be held liable for any errors resulting in misspelling on your original order. Please double check spellings on the order form before submitting your order to us.
Please note that items can only be returned if there is a problem with them and we must be informed within 7 days from receipt of any issues.
