This cross between a Chinese gaiwan and teapot was designed for infusing tea leaves and has an integral strainer.
The fusion gaiwan was designed for purveyors of fine teas Lalani and co. They had previously used Chinese gaiwan, or lidded teabowls, but found that they burned their fingers. They asked Linda Bloomfield to design a new version and added a recessed lid, handle and integral strainer. The fusion gaiwan allows easy access to the tea leaves to sense the colour and aroma of the tea and is perfect for brewing delicately flavoured teas such as darjeeling, oolong or green tea.
For the tea conoisseur or any one who likes fine teas.

Made from:
Hand thrown in porcelain, with a tactile satin matt glaze on the outside.
Dishwasher and microwave safe.

The gaiwan has a capacity of 250ml, or one cup. Width 11cm, height 10cm.
