Here comes the bride, four inches wide! These beautiful rag dolls Alice and Isobel are handmade by a fair trade company in Sri Lanka.
As well as providing their employees with a fair wage and decent working conditions, the company are trustees of the Swim Lanka charity which provides support to children from tsunami affected areas.
In choosing one of these rag dolls you are helping empower the person who made them to gain financial independence and support their family.
Alice or Isobel would make a lovely ethical gift for a flower girl or young bridesmaid who would also look great carrying them down the aisle. They are both wearing a white net tutu with a ribbon which could be changed to match the colour theme of the wedding.
Alice and Isobel comply with European safety standards and are suitable from age 12 months.
As these rag dolls are hand made you should not expect the one you receive to look exactly like the photograph. We think this adds to their charm and hope you do too.
