Fabulous blue silk twill vintage scarf made in 1969 to celebrate the Apollo Moon Landing repurposed into a huge velvet upcycled vintage cushion cover.
This beautiful piece would boldly go into most rooms of the house and make a deep impact. Would look stunning on the sofa, in his office, in a kids bedroom to fire the imagination or would make a fantastic quirky but luxurious gift for any space ranger out there who appreciates handmade, upcycling, vintage, JFK, astronauts, indigo blue, the sixties, the list goes on!
Found in a travelling salesman's suitcase in California, these 1969 Apollo Moon Landing original vintage silk twill scarves have been kept pristine in their own time capsule. Designed by Margaret E Krebs in 1969 and featuring a quote by JFK from 1961 saying "I believe that we should go to the moon". Inspirational stuff! Lovingly brought into the 21st Century they have been upcycled into large, stunning cushion covers. We chose luscious blue cotton velvet for the reverse, lined the scarf with cotton, overlocked the hems for strength and fitted a matching blue concealed zip for easy pad removal.
