An eye catching statement brooch. This beautiful heart shaped cottonwood brooch is made from a real leaf encased to protect its intricate details.
Heart shaped cottonwood leaves are a perennial favourite.
Made from a real natural hand picked and treated cottonwood leaf, this brooch is available in a gold or silver finish.
The brooch has a simple pin fastening, and an additional loop to enable to lucky recipent to wear it as a necklace with the addition of a chain, making it the perfect transitional piece of jewellery.
This brooch can be worn with almost any outfit and looks perfect on a chunky winter scarf, shawl or any lapel to create a statement Autumn Winter look.

As our cottonwood brooches are made from real natural leaves, the sizes do vary, as mama nature intended, but as a guide, they are approx 1.5-2".

Made from
The leaf to make this brooch is hand picked, then checked for imperfections, as only perfect leaves can be used to make our jewellery.
The leaf is then hand painted with a cooper solution, dried then placed in an electrolytic solution which has microscopic particles of 24k gold ( nickel free).
When this contact is made the particles of gold build up to preserve the most delicate intricate details of the leaf.
The final step is to paint the delicate leaf with the different colour finishes.
Once polished and cleaned the shiny new coating shows and magnifies the delicate minute details of the leaf.

Please note that contact with household chemicals, chlorinated water, or any beauty lotions and sprays may cause corrosion and accelerate tarnishing.
So it’s a good idea to remove silver jewellery when doing household chores and getting ready.
