These little birds are super cute. Basil is green, Barry is blue and Bibi is coral pink. They are ball shaped with dangly little legs and short stubby wings. They will never fly but will keep a little one amused with their wonky little expression and gentle rattle sound. The wings are not stuffed and offer a great alternative texture for chewing or grabbing by little fingers.
In choosing Basil, Barry or Bibi you will be helping sustain fairly paid employment in rural Bangladesh. They were hand knitted there by women working for a none profit fair trade organisation. The organisation helps keep families together by providing employment in a village setting close to the women's homes rather than in a city. Mothers are able to stay with their children and earn money to support them.
Basil, Barry or Bibi would make a lovely gift to welcome a new baby or to take to a baby shower, naming ceremony, Christening or Baptism. They would also make a great birthday present for a baby or toddler.
Basil, Barry and Bibi are approximately 11 cm tall. They are made from 100% cotton. They are machine washable at 40 degrees and can be tumble dried on a low setting. CE (European safety standard) certified and suitable from birth.
