Eileen Gatt is most renowned for her beautifully stylised jewellery and silverware depicting animal forms; magically they capture the character of each creature without compromising the wonderfully simple aesthetic. Eileen’s work has always had a strong narrative element. She has been involved with a number of collaborations with storytellers from as far afield as Alaska. Her fascination with the Arctic stems back to her early career when she won a Royal Academy scholarship to work with Inuit stone carvers and this experience has fuelled her ideas ever since. Her most recent additions however are from the Southern hemisphere. Her array of adorable emperor penguins are truly exquisite. The soft white satin finishes that adorn her pieces echos the frosty wintry landscapes that surround her home in the Scottish Highlands.
