These large oval 'Shaker' style boxes are a charming addition to any girl’s room. Perfect for christening, birthdays or gorgeous bridesmaids presents, they make a substantial and generous present. They also make excellent sewing boxes.
They are handmade in Wales, using the traditional Shaker methods of craftsmanship and joinery. They each have the distinctive swallowtail on the side with the bevelled detailing that gives such a stylish hallmark to this painted box. The copper tacks that hold the bands to the lids and bases are also a traditional touch.
They are handpainted in a soft cream with the inside left unpainted to reveal the wood.
The lids may be personalised with the child’s name and the design and name are then printed onto a 100% cotton gingham fabric. The cotton gingham fabric is then cut out and glued on to the top of the box. Little images, together with the name, are also placed around the side of the box.
