Carys Davies makes thrown porcelain pots. Although based in London, she is inspired by the mountains and sea of North Wales where she grew up.

Her pots are mostly rough outside, smooth inside: so although you can use them, you are always reminded by the roughness that they are handmade, somehow nearer nature than a typical jug or bowl!

They can be washed up carefully – some of the care being for the hands of those with delicate skin.

Each piece is thrown on the wheel, then finished with layers of glazes which give the subtle textures. As each piece is made by hand, they are all slightly different in shape and colour – that being part of the pleasure of making, as well as hopefully the pleasure of choosing and owning them.
