Handcrafted from recycled materials in a Cape Town township, this unique Mielie handbag is made from cotton fabric strips which are hand woven into a piece of hessian and then lined with a vibrant cotton polka dot cotton lining which has two additional pockets sewn in for a mobile phone etc.
Made by women who work from home these bags are deliberately time consuming to make, thereby creating as many jobs as possible.
This bag is a one off, and comes attached with a label bearing the name of the weaver that made it.
