Perfect for large displays and popular with collectors, the melon shell has a distinctive crown of spines that circles around the apex of the shell and adds an interesting point of focus.
Colours range between cream and orange brown.
Belonging to the large volutidae family, they occupy worldwide seas with this species (sometimes know as a crowned Baler Shell) being common to the Southwest Pacific in particular.
