Bridget Davies
Using carefully chosen colours and fabrics Bridget wishes to create elegant and unusual accessories and home furnishings that, although quite different, compliment one another.
Working from her studio in West Sussex Bridget aims to create pictures, rather than patterns upon her products. Using carefully finished appliqué and free hand machine embroidery Bridget carries out all every aspect of the process herself, from initial design stage through to the final smattering of beads or a touch of hand embroidery! This process avoids the exact reproduction created by commercial machine embroidery and leaves you with a beautiful, original hand crafted piece of work that you will cherish forever.
Bridget’s inspiration comes from all sorts of things, often from her travels. A bird market in Asia, the beautifully decorated elegant front of a chocolate shop in Rome. She plays with the idea of decadence. Things we would like but possibly wouldn’t need. Indulging in the delights of a chocolate cake, the heady smell of an expensive perfume, the thought of slipping ones feet into a beautifully crafted crystal adorned evening shoes! Her nudes are inspired by her love of life drawing and the embroideries incorporating pictures of brilliant chandeliers from her fascination with sparkle and light.
