Join Mat for a leisurely walk exploring hedgerow and seashore plants. He will introduce you to edible plants found growing wild in Britain.
You will spend the morning exploring the nearby hedgerow and fields, finding a variety of wild plants and herbs and talk about how we can cook and use this wonderful bounty. Then we'll head to the seashore. As we walk along Chesil Beach, Mat will show you how to identify edible plants with confidence. We might find shells, sharks purse, a variety of edible seaweeds and seashore plants.Next, we'll return to the Cafe, where Mat will host a three course lunch, prepared by the team at the cafe, with beautiful seasonal ingredients.

DURATION: 10am start, 3.30pm finish (approx)
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Please wear sturdy shoes or wellies. Each excursion is dependent on what's in season, what wild foods are available and, of course, the weather ... the course will take place whatever the weather. There will be some slippery paths, mud and streams to cross so please consider this if you are in doubt about your ability.
