Bobalong

Hello and welcome to Bobalong. Bobalong is an artisan stationery and design studio specialising in hand printed letterpress paper goods. Our collection includes greeting cards, stationery, and limited edition prints. To complement our letterpress products we also source other artisan paper goods from across the world.

We love to combine contemporary pattern and colour with the craftsmanship and timeless charm of letterpress printing. We print our products, designed and illustrated in house, in small runs on an antique cast iron letterpress using 100% recycled papers or tree-free 100% cotton paper that is made in the Lake District using cotton waste.

Bobalong are the proud owners of an Arab platen – a vintage cast iron printing press. The Arab platen presses were manufactured by Josiah Wade in Halifax between 1872 and 1959. Printing with an antique press requires patience and care. It does not have a motor so we foot treadle while feeding each piece of paper by hand, one at a time creating a rich, tactile impression.
