Barely a Stitch

Barely a Stitch is a mother and daughter team, who design contemporary knitting kits for creative individuals. Behind design is Theresa Venning, whose work has previously been featured in Rowan's books and was worn for many years by both the little and big stars of the Sooty Show, on TV and on the stage.

The label 'Barely a Stitch' started from Theresa's graduate knitwear collection at The London College of Fashion, which lit up the catwalk with bold colour, beautiful detailing and a real sense of fun and frivolity. The same feel and quality continues in the knitting kits today; the only difference is you create the pieces and personalise them yourself. This season, you can choose from a selection of gorgeous VV Rouleaux ribbons and even our own hand covered Liberty print buttons.

Every kit is complete with a clear pattern to follow and everything you will need to make it. Don't worry if you're new to knitting, there is something for every level. 'Starter kits' (for beginners), 'Learning lace' kits (good for those who have knitted before) and 'Creating Cables' kits (designed for more confident knitters, although easy once you know how!).

With Rowan's Big Wool and gorgeous trimmings, every piece is a joy to knit up, so will make the perfect treat for a night in or a lovely gift for a fellow knitter. We really hope you enjoy them!
