Made in Britain
Authentic ikat ethically crafted by Maya weavers in Guatemala, the threads are hand-knotted, hand-dyed then hand woven.
The fabric is produced for A Rum Fellow by a cooperative of Maya weavers in the highlands of Guatemala. By working with cooperatives, charities and social enterprises we ensure fair prices are paid directly to the weavers along with valuable training and support.
The 100% cotton Ikat fabric is knotted & dyed by hand in the traditional method, then handwoven on a pedal loom. The cushion is produced in England with contrast piping and a duck feather pad.
The Caterina Ikat fabric is also available on bolster cushions. The fabric is also available to purchase by the metre, and we use it in incredible bespoke pieces such as furniture and lampshades.
If you are interested in a bespoke order we'd love to explore it for you. We currently work with weaving cooperatives, social enterprises and charities in Guatemala and Peru. Please get in contact via the ‘ask seller a question’ button above.
