This casserole has been lovingly handmade with clay and is a fair trade product. You can use it to create superb dishes on the hob, an open fire or in the oven and take it straight to your table. From stews to tagines and curries, the taste will be enhanced by using this traditional cooking pot.
Diameter: 30cm, height: 20cm (24x13cm excluding lid and handles, all sizes are approx).
Your unique ceramic item needs to be 'sealed' to enjoy many years of use; please follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Oil the whole inner surface with olive oil,
2. Put in a hot oven (200°C) for 5 minutes,
3. Let it cool down completely and wash with warm soapy water.
Alternatively, you can 'seal' it using milk instead of oil. Just ensure the bottom of the item is totally covered. Please wash with warm soapy water not using scourers (may damage the surface) and avoid the dishwasher as the item will require 'sealing' again.
Made in the small town of Pomaire, Chile. A large number of its 6,000 inhabitants become artisans and work with clay, using traditional techniques that existed before the Spaniards arrived in South America.
Due to the handmade nature of this item all sizes are approx and colour may vary.
