Graphic Wooden Postcard Print by Alison Milner
Inspired by an old wooden shop sign I found. I have made these small prints on wood. They are made by transfer printing my designs onto thin plywood, melting the ink into the grain of the wood using turpentine and then finishing with a matt glaze. I have deliberately distressed the edges of the print to give it the same feeling as the original sign I found.
The prints are the size of a postcard or a miniature: 10.5cm x 15cm
They can be posted in a normal envelope or even used as a postcard with a stamp on the back, but are sure to be kept and treasured for a long time.
You can write a message or special date on the back using a permanent marker pen. Give them to commemorate moving house or just as an unusual gift/card/keepsake.
