Long Spot Coffee Table by Alison Milner

Thumb_largespot

Inspiration for these tables comes from the 50s and 60s when a Formica table was the epitome of modernity. The table has a flowing shape and tapered beech screw-on legs.

The Spot pattern uses reversed shadows of wild flowers and silouettes of floating seaweed as well as vector graphics. The pattern is exclusive to Alison Milner, custom printed by Formica in England.

The Formica is very hard wearing and wipe clean, the birch plywood table edges and beech screw on legs are finished with a black stain and wax which reveals the wood grain and can be retouched with black shoe polish for a long life. (See detail picture)

Alison's tables were shown on the Formica stand and the Design Nation stand at 100% design in 2008, and has been seen in The Evening Standard Property Magazine, in Coast Magazine and in Sussex Life Magazine.
