CHILDREN’S PHOTO SESSION IN YOUR HOME

Alice has been photographing children in their homes for nine years since graduating from The Royal College of Art with her Masters in Fine Art Photography. She offers a highly personal service.

A typical session is one of unlimited time and patience. Alice's pictures are timeless and unique but above all, natural and relaxed. She aims to be far far removed from the stiff slightly uncomfortable portraits which we've all seen sat on the family mantelpiece.

On arrival at your home, whilst waiting for the kettle to boil and for mum to have a look through Alice's portfolio's, Alice will already be engaging in nonsense conversation and games with your children in order to gain their trust and confidence.

Alice loves children as is happy to bring any of her vintage props to the session with her but always comes aided with silliness that will allow the younger ones to feel at home and with a gentle enquiring mind to relax the nervous teenager.

Each session is unique but each is carefully considered so that there is time to work with as many locations and styles and combinations of children as you'd like.

Alice is happy to take pictures at home and in the garden as well as to visit a  favourite haunt nearby.

Alice works primarily with natural light but does use a soft studio flash sometimes. Alice is a natural stylist and is happy to look through your choices of selected outfits and to suggest the best places in your home to capture your children at their best.

Often Alice spends a day with you which allows plenty of time for naps for the little ones and breaks for snacks and lunch. Her approach is that it is far preferable to take time and be relaxed and create an atmosphere which is fun and familiar than to rush by for an hour where pressures will then be extreme and results will be reflective of this way of working... the aim to have fun and to create some really wonderful portraits that you will cherish for years and years.

Alice works with equipment and materials of the highest quality as she is a perfectionist and believes that you the client deserve the best that is possible. All black and white prints are hand printed on warm tone bromide paper and if requested images can be presented on canvas. Alice is happy to advise you on options for framing.
