Global Treasury: Byzantine Lightbox by Alex R
The 'Global Treasury' range of lightboxes are sumptuous collages in glass: the optical equivalent of opening a box of treasure. These wall-hung lightboxes sparkle during the day, but truly come alive switched on at night, casting a warm glow of coloured light in the room.
The Byzantine Box is inspired by the cruciform format of Byzantine manuscript bindings in the British Museum. It incorporates fused glass, mirror and glass nuggets. The lightbox comes in a gold or charcoal painted frame and uses a standard 5W low energy bulb. It is supplied with a 2 metre lead with switch and plug.
