I design and hand-make high quality ceramics for the table and for exhibition. I have designed ranges for David Mellor, The Conran Shop and Heal's and am a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen.

My passion is to bring ceremony back into modern life by making everyday moments special.

As a newcomer to notonthehighstreet.com, I am testing the water with GALA, a versatile range of tableware in bright, summery colours. I have designed GALA especially for relaxed eating – alfresco or indoors – and to enjoy on your own or with friends.

Each piece is hand-thrown and decorated with coloured slips whilst still turning on the wheel, then carefully finished with a finely turned foot ring before a first firing to 1,000°C. After that it signed with my makers stamp, dipped in a clear glaze and re-fired to 1,100°C. This means that the finished product is robust and dishwasher and microwave safe. As this is a handmade process no two pieces are exactly the same, making it all the more interesting and lively.
